So, when one drives from California to any other state, it can take a while.  These Western States are big!  But really, the boys were great in the car.  We had a DVD player as  back up entertainment, but we never used it because we didn’t need to!  We had several new toys for Alton (probably one a day) which we got a lot of mileage out of… and Stuart, well, he enjoyed trying to get anything he could (paper books, Alton’s new toys, whatever).  Here was the scene inside of the car.

After leaving Denver, we headed to Telluride, CO.  It was lovely there!  Alton enjoyed a little “hiking” with Dad (the rest of us might call this walking…).  The boys enjoyed exploring the condo there.  The big hit of the trip was the gondola which we took over to Mountain Village where we played on the teeter-totter.

We stayed with Aunt Lisa while we were in Denver for her graduation.  It was the perfect place to stay for us – it even had laundry!  We enjoyed her apartment and also saw the church where she’s working – and its playground (of course!).

While we were there we took in the sights:

Alton also became a model, apparently.

Aunt Lisa graduated with her Master’s of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in the beginning of June.  We drove the 1000 miles to see her graduate and all lived to tell the tale!  Here are pics from graduation, including a fun set of Alton running around with a friend at the graduation itself (the last pic is my favorite!).
